Register for a course
Do I have to become a member of Usva to join a course?
I registered for a course, but changed my mind. Can I still cancel my registration? If you have registered for a course, you can cancel your registration up to 1 week before the start of the course. Send an email to usva@rug.nl with your name, the name of the course, your bank details and your address details. You will then receive the course fee minus €10 administration costs. Within 7 days before the start of the course, and once the course has started, a refund is no longer possible. The legal right of withdrawal also applies in case of cancellation within 14 days after purchasing a course.

I notice you have different rates. How does that work? Usva uses three rate groups for its students: Rate group 1: RUG students Rate group 2: RUG employees, trainee researchers (OIO) and trainee assistants (AIO), MBO students Rate group 3: all persons who do not fall under rate group 1 or 2
I am not a student at the University of Groningen, but I am a student at another university/institution. Am I entitled to a discount? No, unfortunately not. We only offer a discount to students of the University of Groningen.

What can I do with the practice card?
How do I get a practice card?
NB: If you take piano, singing, guitar or dance lessons at Usva, you can use the practice rooms free of charge during the course period. You automatically receive strips on your Usva account, which you can use to reserve the practice rooms. This means you do not have to buy a practice card. If you have any questions or problems, please contact us at 050-3634670 or email usva@rug.nl.
How can I cancel a reservation for a practise room? It is possible to cancel your practice space reservation up to 6 hours in advance. To do so, you first need to log in to your ‘My Usva’ account and go to the reservation overview for the corresponding week and practice room. After this, you can cancel the reserved time by clicking on the blue dot by the time slot and then clicking on save.

I bought a ticket for a performance, but something came up. Can I get my money back or exchange my tickets? Unfortunately, tickets cannot be rebooked or returned after purchase. You can try Social Media in this case to get rid of the tickets.
I bought a ticket for the wrong day. Can I switch the tickets to another day or can I receive a refund?
Is Usva wheelchair accessible? Only our theatre and cafe are accessible to wheelchairs, unfortunately our course rooms are not.

Register for a course
Do I have to become a member of Usva to join a course?
No, you cannot become a member of Usva. Usva is the Cultural Student Centre of the University of Groningen and everybody is welcome. You do not need to be a student to visit a play or to follow a course.
How do I register for a course?
Log in with your student number (i.e. s000000 or h123456), your p-number or register with a personal account and sign up for a course. Make sure that the payment is successful and that you have received a confirmation email. Otherwise you are not in the course and somebody else can take your spot! The course will take place on the same day and time as the start date during the whole course period.

No, unfortunately not. We only offer a discount to students of the University of Groningen.
I registered for a course, but I paid for the wrong rate. What should I do?
Send an email to usva@rug.nl with proof (e.g. copy of diploma or study registration) that you should have paid rate 1 or rate 2. Also state your name, address, place of residence, bank account number and the name of the course. The price difference will be refunded to your account as soon as possible.
Practice card
What can I do with the practice card?
When you have a practice card, you can practice in one of our three practice rooms. There is a limit of 3 hours a week. We have practice cards of 10 hours or 25 hours.
How do I get a practice card?
You can purchase the practice cards online on our website (click on ''practice card'' in the header). Once you bought the practice card, you can reserve a time slot via our website.

Unfortunately, tickets cannot be rebooked or returned. You can try Social Media to try and sell the tickets yourself.
Is Usva wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, the main entrance is not wheelchair friendly. If you are in a wheelchair, please contact our office no later than 1 day before arrival on 050-3634670. The person at the counter will let you in via the back of the building. Only our theatre and cafe are accessible to wheelchairs, unfortunately our course rooms are not.
