From dark techno clubs and warm beach sets to cozy local radio. Whatever your taste in music is, with this accesible course you can start on your DJ ambitions.
With a small group of people we will work on the basic techniques of DJ-ing on a club DJ system. You will learn all the controls of a Pioneer mixer, how to download music safely and honestly, what beatmatching is and how to use a Rekordbox. After this course you are able to play a set, you have basic knowledge of sound and technique and you know how to further develop yourself at home.
This course is taught by Coco Coquelicot. Program maker at, and one of the founders from, Relate Radio and KOPJEK’s first female resident. She organizes PAUW! in VERA and participates in the queer club night BUTTS of OOST. She has a great knowledge of modern underground pop music and a deep love for songs with a powerful message. She has been making radio for 8 years and has been an integral part of the nightlife in the Netherlands for several years now. Although she considers herself more of a music lover and radio producer than a DJ, she is very skilled at the mixer and in the club. Via groovy bass lines and danceable rhythms, Coco builds up her sets and skillfully alternates all kinds of genres.
