Usva Band Night

Usva would like to put some new local bands in the spotlight! Three amazing bands will play this night!

In good spirit is a band in the indie-folk genre. Through sunny days and wither rays, they continue to write and sing in good spirit. With a bit of indie here and a bit of folk there, their songs are moments marinated for your ears. 

Tontea (fool around) was born on a Tuesday with too many cider bottles... (maybe it was a Wednesday?). Unconsciously ironic and purposefully chaotic, the four members of this (for now) non-profit organization thought of doing a smoke-bomb disappearance after their first gig. However, they liked the attention, and they found it hard to quit. Their songs explore their everyday struggles and kitchen-sink philosophy such as what to do when there is an aisle full of crab legs in your favorite supermarket, or how to enjoy your summer when there is obviously no summer (not anymore).

Happenstance is an alternative/indie rock band from Drenthe and Groningen. Bassist Arseniy, drummer Oscar and singer and guitarist Marin found each other at the University of Groningen. The band started as Marin's solo project, with which he reached the national stage for both Popsport and kunstbende from Drenthe. The music is mainly inspired by bands such as Radiohead, Nothing But Thieves, Muse and Jack Stauber. Despite unconventional rhythms, such as bossa nova and swing, and unique melodies, it sounds like a very coherent whole. The lyrics explore themes from existentialism to hedonism to love.
